Superfood is a non-medical term popularized by health enthusiasts referring to a product which has a high content of antioxidants, vitamins, and other nutrients. Foods being linked to this are broccoli, bananas, walnuts, spinach, soy, and the like. And there are many health advantages associated with both.

Is Kale a Superfood?

Yes it is.

It is a leafy green vegetable related to Broccoli, Brussel Sprouts and Cauliflower. It is usually used in teas, pasta sauces, soups, salads, and curries. Additionally, you can make Moringa into a powder and add it to your variety of dishes. 

Moringa’s nutritional profile competes with Kale. It contains many healthy compounds such as vitamin A, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, vitamin B3, vitamin C. As well as calcium, iron, potassium, phosphorus, and zinc. Unlike kale, moringa also contains flavonoids that have been studied for fighting off heart disease and many more. Also, moringa has been cited as a source of protein with all nine essential amino acids in it and it is known to have 35 powerful anti-inflammatory compounds.

But moringa contains more than 3x higher levels of iron than kale. 

Overall, kale & moringa are both incredibly nutritious and beneficial to your health. Kale is certainly the more popular option, but moringa, backed with scientific studies, has more nutritional content and benefits than kale and really deserves to be the top superfood.
