How Did Gucci Mane Lose Weight?
Prior to his last conviction, Radric Delantic Davis also known as Gucci Mane has been sent several times to prison because of his illegal activities. Until then, it has become a reason for him to change his toxic lifestyle, put attention to weight loss, and inspired millions of people through his autobiography entitled, "The Autobiography of Gucci Mane." It contains all of Gucci's childhood, imprisonment, drug addiction, conflicts, and his renewed life.
In an interview with Zane Lowe in 2013, Gucci talked about how his prison life was for him. "I think I would have been dead, probably," referring to his drug addiction. He added, "I wouldn't want to do it like that again, but you know... I don't know. Drugs could've killed me, so you don't know the future, but at the same time, the jail was so hard, so I don't know."
What is Gucci Mane's diet?
He surprised his fans when he showed up with a more fit physique and a healthier look. During his time in prison, Gucci Mane revealed that he eats a lot better and worked out. "The day that I got arrested and stopped doing drugs, eventually it started to dawn on me that I had to start taking better care of myself before I wind up back in the same situation...Getting all those substances out of my body made me able to realize that listen, you got to work out, you got to eat better," the rapper said.
For several months now, he has been equipping himself with a new outlook in life and taking fresh out of the feds. Who wouldn't agree that your perspective in life determines your path? For Gucci Mane, he realized that lesson during his famous imprisonment in 2013. "You gotta be conscious," he added. "Be more self-aware of what you’re doing."
To eat better means to have a healthier intake and discipline of food and drinks into your body. Meaning, there should be no more drugs, alcohol, late-night meals, oily snacks, etc. And replace with more water intake, fresh meats, fruits, vegetables, and a whole lot of rest.
“I eat squash, which I never ate before, along with zucchini; I eat a lot of cashews, peanuts, bananas, apples, and I love salmon and chicken...I try to eat very clean, and I drink about 120 to 130 ounces of water a day. I mark everything I eat on a chart so I can keep track of my daily intake.”
In an interview with REVOLT, he revealed how toxic his life was. "I was drinking pints of lean a week and smoking pounds of weed and just doing all kinds of drugs," he shared. "The whole way I was handling myself before I went to jail was just so negative and it showed in my body."
If you follow his Instagram account, Gucci Mane introduced his followers to many of his workout regimens such as biking, basketball, boxing, cardio, weights, and more. He revealed that he tries to sweat 6 times a week (Monday to Saturday) for an hour and a half. Through that, he felt like he already paid for his previous life of excess, greed, and gluttony. He finally learned to get up every single day and push himself to live a healthier lifestyle.
This is the 40-year old rapper's advice to many who is living an unhealthy lifestyle:
“For people who ain’t in shape, people who ain’t healthy, people who need some inspiration, listen: I was 290 pounds, now I’m 190 pounds. I lost 100 pounds. I’m 190 right now. I said I’m 190! So check this out: You can do it if I can do it. Use me for inspiration. ‘Cause I’m seeing a lot of you all and y’all look terrible.”

Now, he has achieved his own autobiography that ranked into The New York Times Best Seller. The Autobiography Of Gucci Mane is all about his hustle growing up and how it shaped him as a rapper and the transformed life that made him into who he is today. In an interview with Ailsa Chang, he revealed that his main purpose in writing an autobiography is to inspire other people who went through the kind of setbacks that he had.
"I hope when people read my book, that's what they get out of it, like: "'OK, Gucci went through a lot, he's doing something that may be a lot of people would love to do — but at the same time, he took it for granted at the time and made mistakes but he bounced back from it and he's better for it.'" And let them know, "'if he can do that, it's never too late for me to turn my life around because look what he did.'"
