Has Gregory Jbara Lost Weight?

Yes! A lot of weight was lost!

According to Gregory Jbara's Facebook post, Learning From Loved Ones and The Power of Unsolicited Advice From Strangers, it was through his son and few random people telling him the immense benefits gained from a personal weight loss experience.

First, it was in early 2018 when he reached his excessive weight, which is 268 pounds. His obesity gained more attention from his fans until one of them decided to personally reach out to Gregory Jbara through Facebook Messenger.

According to Jbara, it was a private, brief, non-intrusive dialogue that talked about their compassion for the actor's well-being and their personal success in weight loss that the ultimate benefit that everyone wants to have: to spend many more years with their loved ones here on earth.

Second, it was in a grocery store when he heard a random woman talking to him and pointing out an explanation about how her husband overcame a health issue with a clean, organic diet, and avoiding red meat, carbs, and dairy. Furthermore, she could not help but hear more about the woman and her family found a new food regimen and realized how related it is to the unsolicited conversation Gregory had on Facebook.

And lastly, the loss of Marin Mazzie, his colleague in the entertainment industry. Her cancer was an eye-opener to Jbara since he was a constant follower of Mazzie and her husband's long, inspirational, roller coaster, heartbreaking journey to cancer via video blogs and posts. He even describes it as "A mortal union ended by a villain larger than all their efforts. Completely out of their control."

It was on his 57th birthday when he started to do his life-changing decision regarding his health and weight loss.

Let's get straight into the facts on how the broadway actor made it a success.

How Much Weight Did Gregory Jbara Lose?

Gregory Jbara lost 57 pounds on his 57th birthday. He labeled it as a “Lose 57 Pounds on my 57th Birthday” diet for him. Moreover, he lost another 80 pounds on his 58th birthday.

It was an inspiring weight loss journey for him since he was accompanied by his son (who lost 80 pounds), his wife (who lost 41 pounds), and his personal nutritionist, Lilly Padilla.

Aside from having his entire family jumping on his weight loss journey, his nutritionist also guided him in educating on what it meant to be a clean and organic household. Lilly Padilla was also responsible for creating a specific food regimen in Jbara's household depending on their individual body types and needs.

For him, taking care of his health is a simple and profound expression of how much he loves himself, and most importantly, his wife and sons. He also considered it as an opportunity to respectfully honor those robbed with such privileges. He sees his life as a gift and to take it for granted is such a lazy, selfish, and wrong thing to do.

Their family's gradual progress was even chronicled on TV as he portrays "DCPI Garrett Moore" on CBS Police drama, Blue Bloods. He had his own spotlight on the show dealing with his personal health success with obesity in the NYPD entitled, "Rectify."

Gregory Jbara even wrote a testimony to his weight loss saying, "After 57 years of ‘living to eat’ instead of ‘eating to live’, Lilly Padilla has taught this ‘Old Dog’ some ‘new tricks’.  In just four short months I am already 55 pounds lighter and (to quote my doctor) received “stone-cold NORMAL” values on all my bloodwork!"

The actor added, "Also important to note, Lilly provided a diet with recipes that were simple and easy to maintain through regular bi-coastal travel for work, Thanksgiving Dinner and three weeks of holiday travel including a Caribbean cruise, a week of skiing AND visiting our home town in-laws!  My wife lovingly joined me on this new journey (without needing to) and has benefitted by losing 30 pounds herself!  Thank you, Lilly Padilla!!!"

Did Gregory Jbara Leave Blue Bloods?

No, he did not leave Blue Bloods. Gregory Jbara's character, Garrett, is a deeply loved character and plays a huge part in the show.

But the show got a huge surprise after learning that Garrett may actually be departing the commissioner's office himself because of a good offering at Duke, which the fans couldn't help themselves but wanting him to turn it down.

The end of the story resulted in Frank knowing that something was suspicious with the Duke hire. And it turns out that Garrett got the job offer as a way for him to get away from 1 Police Plaza.

As mentioned above, the producers made a change of scripts, and the entire episode was all about obesity and personal health. It was shown on the RectifyI episode that Garrett had to go through a gastric bypass surgery to lose weight. It even turns out to be controversial since a lot of the viewers see it as being "too much".
