From our Detox Diet and Healthy Food Recipe Series - Anti Inflammatory Detox Bread - Pumpkin Style.
The smell of fresh bread is one of the best in the world - who does not like walking past a hot bread bakery when they are bringing bread out of the oven.
Well imagine this was YOUR Bread - and it was a DETOX BREAD - anti inflammatory, paleo, gluten free to name but a few benefits.
Oops I forgot to mention this bread is good for breakfast, lunch or as a healthy snack.
Importantly it contains no added sugar. I use this in my whole food cleanse menu - it is a core component.

Infact - as I write this here is a photo of my morning breakfast - my pumpkin detox bread from our recipe below (I made it yesterday and kept it in the fridge).
Of course I really did need the nice organic coffee!!
We have also added active Manuka honey, but you can use any honey.
If you want of course you can add substitute non organic ingredients - but to get the full detox effect we recommend organic ingredients where possible.
It has taken us 3 weeks and many test to get this recipe to the point where we are happy with it.

I really like this as it is not too sweet and really goes well almost any time.
Detox Bread Recipe
We use a Silicone loaf pan, lined with a strip of baking paper (it makes it easier when the time comes to remove it, see the photo below with the skewer) We also did spray the pan with some organic release spray.
Steps to prepare the pumpkin
The first thing you need to do is prepare your pumpkin.
- Take your pumpkin (preferably organic) and cut it in half or thirds depending on the size of your pumpkin.
- Scoop out the seeds with a spoon.
- Now place the pumpkin pieces face side down in a large baking dish.
- Cover with approximately ¼ inch water.
- Bake at 350° for 50-60 minutes until tender. You can test using a fork. If the fork goes in easily then you are ready
- Let the pumpkin cool.

Detox Bread Instructions
Step 1 - Dry ingredients
In a mixer put the dry ingredients first and give them a mix so that they are evenly distributed. (almond flour, salt, baking soda, nutmeg, cinnamon , and cloves.)
Now take your wet ingredients and blend them in. Manuka honey, pumpkin, and eggs. Put the mixer on medium and mix until you see a nice even mix. (see in the video above)
The mix is actually what I would call quite wet - or runny. Do not worry this is what it is supposed to look like. - Again you can see what it looks like in the video above.
Pour the mix into you loaf mould or pan. Sprinkle pumpkin seeds on top
Then bake at 300 F for 30 mins. (we have a turbo fan oven- so you might need to adjust if you do not have this type of fan oven).
Check after 30 mins it is likely the top is brown, but the inside is still wet - take a metal skewer and check the inside of the bread - if the skewer comes out clean - the bread is done.
If it is still wet- lower the temperature to 250F and bake for another 10-15 mins and check the inside again. We actually needed the 15 mins extra - but we checked again after 10 mins.
Leave the loaf to cool in the baking mould for approximately 1 hour before you tip out.
Let the loaf cool completely before covering with a plastic wrap and putting any leftovers in the fridge.
